Unfortunately, there are areas in the Borough where dumping of various household items (sofas, mattresses, etc.) in common areas is occurring rather than residents responsibly arranging for removal. This behavior harms the community as a whole. According to Section 47-12 B of the Code of East Greenville Borough, it is illegal, and if we identify the dumpers, we will prosecute to the full extent of the law. The fine for dumping is up to $1,000. The areas we have identified recently where dumping is occurring are on the common areas and grass islands and streets throughout Colonial Village. Common areas cannot be used for bulk item pickup; you must place your items for pickup at your residence. We will be monitoring the problem areas closely but also need your help. Since we switched to toter trash service in 2022, any bulk items must be scheduled and paid for in advance through Whitetail Disposal. Contact them through their Borough Department (610-754-0103, option 2) by 12 noon on Monday to schedule pick up that same week.
